Sacramento Asian Chamber moves into larger building in Oak Park
As part of an ongoing expansion, the Sacramento Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce has moved from midtown to a larger building in Oak Park that it may someday share with Sacramento’s other ethnic chambers of commerce.

More Time for All

St. HOPE is founded on five pillars. Pillar number three is More Time. Most know this translates into longer school days for our students, which is one part of the concept of more time, and one that may cause kids to cringe initially. But it makes sense. If you are behind it will take longer to catch up. If you are ahead then more time will help you get further ahead. However, the pillars are not just for our students, they apply to the adults as well.
Teachers and staff at St. HOPE embody the five pillars and model them for students.
New St. HOPE Website Launched

The new St. HOPE websites, launched just last week, tell the St. HOPE story, aid in cross-network alignment, and provide stakeholders with an excellent communication tool. With features like the St. HOPE timeline, beautiful carousel images, and a thorough events calendar, it’s easy to capture everything we are about here at St. HOPE. The sites are managed using one system, so whether you are a parent, tenant, or a future partner, you are getting the same message; we are committed to revitalizing Oak Park through quality public education and economic development.
Dragons Receive NFL Honors

After capturing the 2015 Metro League Championship banner, Sac High Football continues to roll. With the start of the fall season approaching, the Dragons are gearing up for a tough pre-season schedule with aims of repeating and exceeding the expectations set during last year’s impressive campaign. This season, the Dragons will compete against Jesuit High School, J. Serra Catholic High School from Los Angeles, and the prolific Folsom High School Bulldogs, all before Metro League competition.
A Stronger Oak Park

St. HOPE’s focus on Oak Park’s children goes beyond just those that attend the schools we operate. While well over 1,500 students attend Triumph, PS7, Oak Park Prep and Sac High combined, there are thousands of other children in the neighborhood. Over the past month, St. HOPE has had the privilege of opening the school’s doors to children from Oak Park and the surrounding communities on several occasions. We are honored to have this privilege to support as many students and families as possible.
PS7 Alum are Achieving the Mission

In August 2003, PS7 opened its doors as a K-4 school in south Oak Park. Almost 200 students in kindergarten through fourth grade sat on the blacktop for the school’s opening ceremonies, which included Mayor Kevin Johnson, founding principal Herinder Pegany, PS7’s founding team, which included Patricia Burks, and not to mention countless excited parents and community members.
Oak Park resident invests in revitalized Broadway with new jewelry shop

Oak Park resident Janell Lacayo is investing in her neighborhood, opening her Nectar jewelry boutique a few weeks ago in one of the renovated properties that architect Ron Vrilakasredesigned and owns on Broadway.
Lacayo had been selling her handmade jewelry mostly at arts and craft shows for seven years, though some locals will recall that she also had short stints at the now-shuttered East Sacramento Mercantile over at 3257 Folsom Blvd.
