Local School Wellness Policy

Pod

St. HOPE Public Schools’ Local School Wellness Policy (LSWP) has been created and maintained with input from each SHPS School Site Council. Council meetings are held quarterly and are made up of students (at the middle- and high-school levels), teachers, staff, school administrators, and parents/community members. Members of the public are welcome to attend.

Please check with each school’s front office for upcoming dates of Council meetings that will address the LSWP. Parents can also check communication folders or fliers distributed via advisory for information about Councils. SHPS encourages interested stakeholders to participate in the development, review, update, and implementation of the Local School Wellness Policy via the School Site Councils.

In addition to Council input, in order to ensure a thorough review of the LSWP and appropriate updates, SHPS Food Services seeks participation specifically from physical education teachers, Edible Sac High, and Chartwells, its Food Service Management Company. The LSWP must also have input and approval from the school board before it can be updated.
