I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July! For me the recent Independence Day celebrations – both Juneteenth and the 4th of July – were fun-filled days spent enjoying time with family, friends, and our larger community. Not only were they full of good food and friendship, they were important occasions to reflect on the freedoms and opportunities we often take for granted. Whether due to limited access or inequitable policies, too many people in America and throughout the world face barriers to success.
State-of-the Art PS7 Elementary Campus Coming Soon!
Built in the 1950’s, the PS7 Elementary campus is over 70 years old and is in desperate need of repair. For several years, St. HOPE Public Schools has been working to secure funding and approvals for a major PS7 Elementary modernization and we are thrilled that the project is officially underway.
Join Us for Our Free Community BBQ and School Supply Giveaway
Sacramento area students and families are invited to St. HOPE’s FREE Back to School BBQ on Thursday, August 10 from 4-6pm. This celebration is a great way to kick off the new school year and make sure students across the Sacramento region have the school supplies they need to succeed in school. There will be a delicious BBQ, fun activities, games, and prizes for the whole community to enjoy.
Stanford Report Highlights St. HOPE Public Schools
Stanford University’s Center for Research on Education Outcomes (CREDO) recently released a report evaluating the current landscape of charter schools across America. The study found that in both reading and math, charter schools provide students with stronger learning compared with the learning in traditional public schools that are otherwise available to them.
Sac High Alumni Spotlight: Morgan Mitchell, Class of 2014
When thinking about her time at St. HOPE Public Schools, Morgan Mitchell fondly remembers the strong community. She says the school’s intentional focus on community building helped her develop lasting relationships with both students and teachers. She made some of her best friends at Sac High and still keeps in touch with several teachers, sharing updates and asking them for advice.
