PS7 Middle School Band 2

Drop Off & Breakfast

Scholars are expected to be dropped off at 7:30 a.m. in uniform, well rested and ready to listen, be respectful, and work hard.

For those who elect to have breakfast at school, be sure that your child is in the breakfast line before the meal service ends at 7:40 a.m.

Homeroom has two meanings here at PS7. Scholars start their day in a zero period called “homeroom.” This period is a quiet one in which scholars will finish the remainder of their breakfasts, check over their homework, read silently, and make sure once again that they have all their must-haves. Homeroom is also what we call a group of scholars that transition together from subject to subject.

Core Classes

PS7 scholars take 4 core classes and 2 electives.  Electives meet twice per week so that scholars are taking 5 classes per day.  On Wednesdays, scholars participate in an extended homeroom period at the end of the day to reflect on their academic achievement and behavior from the previous week and set goals for the upcoming week.
At PS7 we take reading seriously. All scholars participate in reading block four times a week.  This is an additional 2 hours of instruction each week, where classes read a novel together, write res

Listening, being respectful, and working hard to learn new material burns up a lot of calories. At 11:45, scholars are walked to the Main Commons to enjoy a purchased school lunch or one they brought from home. We promote healthy eating habits because we believe that what they eat now will influence their health later as adults. Scholars are expected to enjoy their healthy lunch while sitting at the table, enjoying the company of friends, and chatting calmly with neighbors.

Art & P.E.

We know that our scholars are working hard in their core classes and want to make sure they also have the opportunity to move and to be creative throughout their day. All of our scholars participate in PE and Art each week. Our PE coach introduces scholars to a variety of sports, teaching them the rules and basic of each, and giving them plenty of practice.

On Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, PS7 middle scholars will be dismissed only to the front of Sacramento Charter High near the parking lot exit at 3:25 p.m. On Wednesdays, kids who finish their day without incident will get to leave at 2:15. After those times, we are unable to provide supervision. Older siblings attending Sac High must pick up their younger siblings from middle school- not the other way around. Loitering on campus is not be tolerated.
