SHPS Employee Wellness Fair

Post

On January 25th, local organizations gathered for the St. HOPE Public Schools’ Employee Wellness Fair. The purpose of the fair was to provide opportunities to SHPS employees and inspire folks to take better care of themselves.  In explaining a primary reason for the fair, Emily Heizer, a member of the SHPS Human Resources team who spearheaded the event said,”Teachers give so much to our students and we really wanted to do something special for them!”

Over 100 employees from every school in the St. HOPE system participated in the fair and upon arrival staff were asked to share one thing they do to take care of themselves now, and one thing they would do to take care of themselves in the future. This promoted self-awareness and encouraged staff members to pursue a positive work-life balance. Excitement filled the space as folks mixed, mingled and learned about local wellness organizations.

In addition to all SHPS insurance providers, vendors like Capitol Floats, Patris Artist, and Fleet Feet were in attendance as well. Oak Park Healing Arts provided mini yoga sessions, and Lotus Garden Yoga led groups in meditation. Snacks and tastings were provided by Sacramento Natural Foods Co-Op and Vibe Health Bar. Vendors were excited about the mission of St. HOPE Public Schools and truly enjoyed serving our staff.
