Black Americans have achieved and thrived through Slavery, Jim Crow and benign neglect. The Wealth Building Opportunity Gap presents another major challenge for Black Americans. We realize that we cannot rely on anyone but ourselves to conquer this challenge. We cannot expect those that grow wealthy from our condition to provide a solutions to our problems. This book lays out the mindset, financial knowledge and skills Black Americans must acquire to build long lasting wealth. Individuals, families, civic organizations and the Black Church must have a comprehensive plan to achieve financial wealth. Our financial empowerment will only became a reality when we become sellers rather than buyers, producers rather than consumers and owners versus renters. We must work collectively and make economic independence our number one priority as a community.
