On Thursday, August 10, St. HOPE  hosted its Back 2 School BBQ in collaboration with over ten  community partners. More than 400 youth attended and community members enjoyed free hot dogs and snow cones, free school supplies (notebooks, pens and pencils, folders, crayons, coloring books, etc.), and free backpacks (backpacks were limited to the first 100 students). This fun-filled event at McClatchy Park included face painting, chalk art, bean bag toss for kids and an opportunity for adults to mingle and chat with friends.  

We appreciate the support of the many community partners who helped provide school supplies: SMUD, Sacramento Covered, Center for Fathers and Families, University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law, Skylar Rae Studios, Women’s Civic Improvement Club of Sacramento, Highlands Charter School, Hope Community Church, and Children’s Choice Dental Care.
