Because every child deserves a new book and the gift of literacy, Underground Books has created the Mother Rose Giving Tree in honor of the late Underground Books Founder, Georgia (aka Mother Rose) West. The Giving Tree provides free culturally relevant books for students in grades K-8 in Oak Park.

In addition to providing over 300 books to low-income students, the Giving Tree also greatly supports Underground Books, a local Black-owned business in Oak Park.

You can support the Giving Tree by selecting from a list of current books and making a purchase that will be given to children during literacy events throughout the year!
