About Sr.: David Williams, a middle-aged mechanic battling addiction and a troubled past, faces a crisis when his ex-wife Katherine brings their abused son, Junior, to live with him. Fearing social services, David goes into hiding with the kids in an abandoned house, where they plead for a trip to the beach, their “happy place.”

Balancing their desire with evading authorities and coping with his own vices, David’s struggle intensifies. His ex-wife’s plea for help leads to a violent confrontation with her abusive boyfriend, causing her to stay with him, leaving David and the kids disappointed.

Determined to avoid foster care, David evades authorities but faces setbacks, unraveling secrets and betrayal. As mortality looms, Junior must mature quickly, confronting his father’s demons and persuading him to fulfill their promise of a beach trip. Can David overcome his struggles and keep his word, or will the burden prove too much?
