Knocking on The Door: Two Cities, Two Historic Campaign
Wednesday, October 8
Louis Bryant III, Director
In the heart of Northern California, two African-American women embark on parallel campaigns that could make local history. Dr. Flojaune Cofer, a health policy advocate, runs for mayor of Sacramento and Dr. Dawnté Early, West Sacramento city council-member, runs for mayor of West Sacramento. Both are striving to become the first Black women to ever hold the mayoral role of their cities. Through their eyes, we witness the challenges and triumphs of women navigating political landscapes, knocking on doors, and pushing for a seat at the table. This documentary captures not just a campaign, but frames a moment of the enduring quest for equity in civic leadership.
