  Event Overview
  The Sac BlkLit Book Fest is a one-day
  celebration of Black literature, culture, and community in
  Sacramento. Taking place at Underground Books and The Guild
  Theater, this community event brings together Black authors,
  readers, and publishing professionals for engaging panels, author
  conversations, and book signings. The festival also features
  discussions on education, literacy, and cultural empowerment,
  culminating with a ticketed VIP reception for an intimate
  opportunity to connect with featured guests.
  Mission & Goals
  The festival exists to celebrate Black literature, promote
  literacy, and uplift authors and the wider community. By
  providing a platform for meaningful conversations, education, and
  cultural exchange, the Sac Black Lit Book Fest seeks to inspire,
  empower, and strengthen the Sacramento literary community and
  beyond.
Venues
Underground Books – A vibrant independent bookstore serving as a hub for literary events and community engagement in Sacramento.
The Guild Theater – A historic theater in Oak Park that hosts cultural and community-centered performances and events.
  Who Should Attend
  Authors, readers, educators, students, and community members who
  are passionate about literature, storytelling, and cultural
  empowerment.
  Special Guests
  Confirmed participants include bestselling author Shaka Senghor
  and university leaders President Luke Woods (Sac State) and
  Chancellor Gary May (UC Davis). Additional guest authors and
  speakers will be announced as the event approaches.
